Restore Public Health Funding!
Send a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives urging him to restore funding to public health agencies!
Reverse Spending Cuts to Public Health
Honorable John Boehner, Speaker of the House of Representatives
Speaker of the House of Representatives
H-232 The Capitol
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Mr. Speaker:
The Directors of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, National Science Foundation, and the Food and Drug Administration have all said that the budget reductions brought about by sequestration will have a profound and lasting impact on public health. All of these agencies play a significant role in the study, treatment, and prevention of a variety of diseases associated with hemochromatosis. The cuts in funding for these agencies will delay research and access to new and existing medical treatments. These public health agencies need adequate funding to support a strong public health system that can provide hope and save lives on a daily basis.
I urge you restore funding to these agencies and preserve our public health system.
