News Archive -January 2010- New Website Healthcare Reform HIS is pleased to offer our support of the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962). The Affordable Health Care for America Act will end discrimination against people with hemochromatosis and other related conditions caused by iron overload by prohibiting insurance companies from denying coverage or charging higher premiums to people with pre-existing conditions. It will eliminate annual and lifetime caps on benefits, limit out-of-pocket expenses, and provide subsidies to those who otherwise could not afford insurance. -September 2009- We are putting the finishing touches on our website and we are looking for real life stories related to hemochromatosis to include on our new site. We realize that this is a very personal issue and that many people may not be comfortable sharing their story. However, for those of you who don’t mind we would really like to hear what you have to say. You can tell us about how you were diagnosed or maybe how successful your treatment has been. You can also offer advice to others who may be diagnosed with HH. This is a great opportunity for people to share and inform others. As you know, one of our goals is to increase awareness about hemochromatosis. What better way to inform people than by telling them the real life stories of people and families affected by HH? If you are interested you can either post your story on our Facebook Cause or you can email me at jpedwards@hemoinfo.org. -April 2009- New Website Now we would like to move forward with the design of a new website. We have a very limited budget and we would love for someone to volunteer to design our new website for free. Please email Jason Edwards at jpedwards@hemoinfo.org if you would like to volunteer your web design services. -November 2008- New Logo -September 2008- Change of Plans Please give us your feedback at jpedwards@hemoinfo.org. -August 2008- New Image -July 2008- Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Insider Pages Fundrasier -January 2008- Healing and hope through stillbirth research U.S. News & World Report
